According to a statement from the government of Machupicchu; and protecting the physical integrity of our visiting friends,

 

We must inform that the entrance to the route of the Classic Inca Trail KM 82 and Short Inca trails to Machupicchu will be suspended, starting on March 1st to March 15th 2020, this due to the heavy rains on the route and which are causing landslides.

 

Note: the closure of the classic road does not imply the closure of Machupicchu “so the visit to the Inca citadel is confirmed.”

 

ITEP Travel, is working to ensure the best interest towards our visitors, so we are moving towards the Machupicchu government offices.

 

Our operative area is working on alternatives of the Inka Route via Lares trek or Salkantay trek and the Inca roads that also lead to Machupicchu.
