Opening of routes 1 and 2 of the Inka Trail Network of the Historical Sanctuary of Machupicchu
The Head Office of the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary – SERNANP, and the Head Office of the Machu Picchu Archaeological Park – PANM/MC, inform the general public that starting from tomorrow, October 20TH, 2023, routes 01 and 02 of the Inca Trail Network will be reopened.
The resumption of service in a shorter time than expected is thanks to the prompt response from the personnel of the DDC-Cusco, Sernanp, the District Municipality of Machu Picchu, and the local residents of the Wayllabamba area, who carried out the necessary work to enable the two bridges in the Tarayoc and Hatunchaca sections.
In this regard, the groups that are staying at kilometer 88 today, October 19, have the opportunity to continue their journey towards Llulluchapampa or Pacaymayo Alto. Likewise, they also have the option to continue their journey to kilometer 104. Similarly, the groups entering on October 20th will proceed as usual through the Tarayoc sector, making use of the newly enabled bridges.
