TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE INCA TRAIL NETWORK IN THE HISTORIC SANCTUARY OF MACHU PICCHU DUE TO HEAVY RAINFALL

1. The Ministry of Culture, through the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Cusco; the National Service of Natural Protected Areas (Sernanp); and the Regional Government of Cusco, represented by the Regional Management of Foreign Trade, Tourism, and Handicrafts (GERCETUR), announce the temporary closure of the Inca Trail Network in the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, across all its routes, from March 1 to March 15.

2. This measure has been implemented to protect the physical integrity and health of visitors due to the risks posed by the heavy rainfall in the Cusco region, which has caused landslides and instability in certain sections of the trail.

3. Maintenance work is being carried out, and coordination with the relevantauthorities is underway to assess and rehabilitate the affected trails, ensuring the safety of visitors, guides, tour operators, and support staff.

4. Refunds for tickets to the Inca Trail Network of Machu Picchu will be processed following the corresponding procedures through the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Cusco.
